Mark
Eitzel - Returns to public prominence (!!)
Titles, dates and revealing photography will have to
wait for a future update, but we can announce with undisguised
glee that Mark Eitzel will be releasing a brand new studio
recording on Matador in the spring of 2001. We can also confirm
after weeks of denials, Mr. Eitzel will be appearing on Matadors
massive SXSW live event, taking place on March 17 (Austin
Music Hall), appearing alongside Stephen Malkmus, Mogwai and
the reunited Soft Boys. Hell also be playing in London
on March 1 alongside The Wisdom Of Harry at Londons
Union Chapel, as part of Rough Trades 25th Anniversary
concert series.
Stephen Malkmus Network television is your best
entertainment value
In the aftermath of the an incredibly well-received NYC solo
debut last week, and with a mountain of press acclaim building
up all over our offices, Stephen Malkmus will be bringing
his mind and mouth to CBS The Late Show With David
Letterman. Stephen and the Jicks will be playing on
an early April telecast, and once were allowed to tell
you the date (currently being kept secret for fear of provoking
Americas enemies theyd like nothing better
than to take a shot at a respected youth icon and symbol of
truth. And Stephen might be in danger, too) thats exactly
what well do.
On April 10, well be releasing a CD single of Jenny
& The Ess-Dog along with non-album material. Theres
been widespread speculation on what the 2nd single from this
album might be, and now there can be widespread debate over
whether or not this is the right choice. Hey, maybe you should
start your own record label!
Arab Strap
All of their songs are love songs. Sort of.
Love
Detective, the new single (in the UK at least) from
the forthcoming Arab Strap album The Red Thread,
is available for download
starting Tuesday, February 6th. The band are about to begin
a brief UK tour, and with any luck, well have North
American dates to announce before long.
Tour Dates
Newly updated schedules

other superstars are available now for your perusal. No dates
in Peru, however.
