VIDEO(S) : Spoon - 3 Songs from "CBS This Morning : The Saturday Sessions"

It would be an exaggeration to say Spoon's last week in NYC represented some kind of huge multimedia takeover, but only a slight exaggeration. And if their record label cannot slightly exaggerate things and trumpet such achievements, WE'RE OUT OF A JOB and you certainly wouldn't wish that upon any of us during this holiday season. From Saturday's broadcast of "CBS This Morning", here's Spoon performing at an ungodly hour (OK, it was pre-taped) along with Britt and Rob being interviewed by the program's Anthony Mason.

Coming October 20 : Spoon - 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga' 2XLP Reissue

On October 20 we'll be marking the 10th anniversary of Spoon's breakthrough 2007 album, 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga' with a double LP reissue including a bonus disc comprising the long out of print / previously available only-on-CD 'Get Nice' EP, both encased in a gatefold jacket with revised art. Matador is releasing the album worldwide save for North America where the reissue is handled by Merge, who brought 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga' into our lives and onto our shelves a decade ago.

Recorded in 2006 in Austin by the band and Mike McCarthy (with the exception of the single, "The Underdog", recorded in LA by Jon Brion), 'Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga' was a high water mark critically and commercially for Spoon at the time, though it's been a pretty crazy run/unbeaten streak since, too. Spoon - "Hot Thoughts", From Tuesday's "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"

As mentioned earlier, Spoon appeared on Tuesday's edition of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and performed the titular track from their universally hailed new album, 'Hot Thoughts'. Remarkably, said broadcast occurred just days after the 20th anniversary of Ellen being on the cover of Time Magazine, and if you're lucky, there's a patient older person in your life who can calmly explain what magazines were.

Today : Spoon On "The Ellen DeGeneres Show"

Spoon make their first appearance on "The Ellen Degeneres Show" this afternoon at 4pm ; it might even be the band's first domestic appearance on a major daytime show (the Elias Koteas Sports Bureau's website is down, otherwise I'd look it up).  Ellen's other guests today are Carson Daly and Rob Delaney.

OUT TODAY : Spoon's 'Hot Thoughts'

On the heels of last week's national TV appearances and the past 3 nights at the former Emo's building, re-dubbed "Eno's" for the occasion, Spoon commemorate today's release of their insanely well-reviewed 'Hot Thoughts' with an appearance in the parking lot of Austin's Waterloo Records at 6pm. After that, a sick global touring run commences (see below) and if this week's gigs are any measure, you're gonna see a band at the absolute peak of their powers. A few of us have spent a VERY LONG TIME following this band and it's no hype job whatsoever to say that in 2017, Spoon not only still have the capacity to stun & surprise, they might only just be getting started.

Spoon - "I Ain't The One" debut on "The Late Late Show", Rough Trade NYC Listening Party Tonight

This past Thursday night on CBS' "The Late Late Show With James Corden", Spoon debuted "I Ain't The One" from the forthcoming 'Hot Thoughts'. There were also appearances by John Goodman, a sloth and Chris Lombardi, not necessarily in that order, but we are only allowed to share a clip of the Spoon appearance (above).

Tonight at Rough Trade NYC, (64 N. 9th Street), you can pre-order the clear vinyl version of 'Hot Thoughts' and listen to the full album 4 days early in the comfort of the SONOS Listening Room. There's artwork on display by Christine Messersmith, free snacks, and a chance to win other, as yet unspecified prizes (which is not to say the snacks aren't going to be overwhelming)

Stream or preorder 'Hot Thoughts' (digital preorders receive "Can I Sit Next To You" and "Hot Thoughts" instantly)
