it reminds of there's a riot goin' on in places.

"a rainbow aims" is a total jam. those horns (and i think a flute?) that drop in around 4:30 and stretch out for a minute are sublime.
i bought this on emusic, but i'm thinking that it might be a good idea to throw down for the vinyl too. it's a goo i'd like to spread out over my whole apartment (rather than just my earbuds).

I too am really enjoying this one and recommend the vinyl on aesthetic grounds alone. It's a silly thing, I guess, but I think the white 180 gram vinyl Matador did for this and for the recent Dead Meadow just looks stunning.

My Dead Meadow lps are distinctly black - thought I'd dreamt up that the album was available on white vinyl. Did I miss the boat by only picking it up last month?

Some of the Dead Meadow LPs were on colored vinyl - I don't think just white. All of the BBML LPs are on white vinyl.

Dead Meadow - "Old Growth" - 500 copies on white vinyl

A buck a word and you've a deal.
Seriously though I just haven't had the time to give it enough spins to comment in competition with you.
i feel like a smore melting when i listen to it.

I agree with the There's a riot goin' on comparison. Definitely has that same murky decadent feel to it. At times it also reminds me of air and spiritualized.

these two are totally sonic brethren with spiritualized. i keep meaning to load lazer guided melodies to my ipod so i can drone out in the office.
i realized after i listened to it this afternoon that i don't know a single lyric from this record. the vocals have just been part of the stew, all texture and no signification. i should probably make an effort to figure out what they are on about.

This album provides many of the benefits of marijuana use without any of the side effects.

does BBML like late-period talk talk? i'm listening to "after the flood" from laughing stock right now, and it almost sounds like something the band slowed down for motion to rejoin.
i'm still totally feeling this record. it's definitely one of my favorites of 2008.

I'd be surprised if they did, but who knows.
(We already have another band that is addicted to late period Talk Talk of course.)

And theirs is one of my favourite albums of 2008.
