The 5th 7" in our Jay Reatard Singles series goes up for pre-order this Tuesday at 3pm EST.

We've taken some steps to ensure that everyone gets a fair crack at getting one of these. It's going to happen like this....

On Tuesday August 12 at 3pm EST we will announce an email address at preorder.matadorrecords.com (http://preorder.matadorrecords.com)

Please send an email to the address from your Matador Store Registered email address. If you've yet to register for an account please do so here (https://www.matadorrecords.com/store/checkout/index.php?section=register). If you're one of the first people to email, you will receive a confirmation email and a buy link for the 7" will appear on the Matador Store when you log in.

My hands have never trembled so much, not even during my piano exams.

I'm soooo relieved. The record shops in Dublin didn't get stocks of either three or four, and I only know one shop in the UK that confirmed getting number four in and they didn't even make it available to pre-order/buy online. Without this I'd have been sunk.

Am I alone in thinking that I’m really only interested in having the first four if I can also have the other two? I mean, there’s just no point in having part of the series when I’m going to have to buy the LP to get the rest (artwork notwithstanding). Hence, those first four singles are about to go up on eBay. And the LP will pay for itself, I guess.

A suggestion, should you do something like this again: for a limited time before the start of the series (within an hour’s window, for instance), sell subscriptions. Then add the limited edition quantities on top of that.

Jay = clear vinyl
Stephen = yellow vinyl
Billie = blue vinyl

At least that's the way they arrived and left here.

FYI all copies have the sticker on the back of the cover instead of the front.

Are you sure it was refunded, or did the initial "pending authorization" just disappear after you initially placed the order?

Throughout the series, I've found that when I place the order, I'll have a $6.50 pending authorization. When I check my credit card statement online, that will disappear after a short time (a day or two). Then, usually around the time I receive the record, the $6.50 charge will show up again as confirmed. I think it's because Matador doesn't actually bill you until they ship your order.
