So I really like Robert Christgau and I know he LOVED Pavement, (even "got" Wowee Zowee back in 95 and gave it an A), also the first Malkmus....
But now I see in the new Voice that he has delegated Pig Lib to the Honorable Mention and cryptically follows this with something about Malkmus being a fussbudget.
I usually think rock critics are assholes and Christgod is a huge one which is why I love him. Can't quite get to the bottom of his elliptical fussbudget comment here though...maybe he is right? I've been amazed how over the years he does nail certain records that I wrongly loved/hated at first.
