I've got to wonder if the reviewer ACTUALLY listened to the Dump album. Who the fuck thinks of Neutral Milk Hotel when listening to "A Grown-Ass Man"???

Coming from the rag that said And Then Nothing Turned Itself Inside-Out was "packed with touching breakup songs", I'm not too surprised.

Hmmm....James Mcknew has to "inflict more man-damage"...yeah! I mean what the fuck? "A grown ass-man" clearly rocks when it needs to...but that's not really the point. It's a large collection of songs that jump around in weight and context, it's lo-fi, it's fun, it's sometimes emotional, sometimes funny...but describing the whole experience as "understated and boring" misses the point. Maybe it's too subtle for this guy...this clearly being the case for someone who feels James needs a "machogram". Okay, so I thought the review was funny...I mean anybody who uses terminology like "wuss-tones" get's points in my book...it just that in his attempt to explain AGAM in terms of its lack of rock loses to the finer points of James's actual songwriting...which is clear in purpose and in some parts, eloquently defined.
