Under the Radar

Hey Arab Strap fans,
My name is Mark Redfern and I'm the Senior Editor of Los Angeles based quarterly indie music magazine Under the Radar. I just thought I should tell you all about our magazine, since we've covered a few Matador artists. In our first issue (Dec. 2001) I interviewed Arab Strap and that article can now be found archived on our website at: www.undertheradarmag.com/Issue%201/Interviews/Arab%20Strap/arabstrap.html
If you don't already know of our mag, our new issue is out now and features new interviews with Cat Power, Elliott Smith (in his frist in-depth interview and photo shoot in years), Blur, Supergrass, Badly Drawn Boy, The Postal Service, The Velvet Teen, Cursive, My Morning Jacket, Iron & Wine, Lisa Germano, Goldfrapp, The Walkmen, stellastarr*, Suicide, Add N to (X), Calexico, Graham Coxon, Johnny Marr, Richard Ashcroft, Fischerspooner, Idlewild, The Delgados and so much more. There's 62 bands interviewed in the new issue and more than 100 album reviews. There's also a huge special section on shoegazing, in which we did new interviews with Chapterhouse (Stephen Patman), Lush (Emma Anderson), Ride (Mark Gardner and Andy Bell), Slowdive (Rachel Goswell), Swervedriver (Adam Franklin), as well as with a ton of new shoegazing bands coming out of the States right now. See below for a complete list of all the bands interviewed in the issue.
The magazine is available nationwide in Borders, Tower Records, selected Barnes & Nobles and Virgin Megastores, as well as at tons of smaller record and book stores. Alternatively, you can mail-order the magazine for us.
Here's the mail-ordering info:
If you're happy with it being sent media mail (which could take 2 weeks) then please send a check or money order for $5.00 made out to Under the Radar to the following address:
Under the Radar
238 S. Tower Dr. #204
Beverly Hills, CA 90211
Or we can send it first class (2-4 days) for $6.00. If you have a Pay Pal account you can pay us that way too by just using my e-mail address (mark@undertheradarmag.com), that way we can mail the issue out to you without having to wait for the check. If you're using Pay Pal please add 50 cents, as they take a commission, which negates any profit we'd make mail ordering.
Include your name and current mailing address with any payment. Then we’ll send an issue right out to you when we get payment one way or another.
Thanks for your time and attached is a j-peg of our current cover.
All the best,
Mark Redfern
