View Full Version : Dead Meadow Rocks!!!!
Oh man, I just downloading some songs off of their site, and I must say that these guys are vastly underrated. I cannot wait to see the fellas in Asheville this week and also I cannot wait until their new album comes out, it is going to be awesome. If you suckers don't know than you will learn soon.

I've got the debut. I like the music but the vocals are a bit on the annoying side. I'm still planning on seeing them this week, though. I'm looking forward to hearing the new stuff.

They rocked last night. I will definitely picking up the new one when it comes out. I got the live one last night (still need the second one, though).

i'm hoping they will be able to sell the new one when i see them.
Dead Meadow was outstanding tonight in Asheville, no cd for sale though. They thorougly kicked my butt, I am very fortunate to have survived the sonic blasts that they delivered. My life was only saved by the fact that I said I would buy the album when it comes out.

They put many of us through 50 minutes of torture last night. Same riff over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over. I thought I was going to be scarred for life, then The Jicks brought some sanity to NYC. I realize that you can't like every band on a label, but.....those guys were terrible!!!! Back to the Black Sabbath tribute band.
Your 50 minutes of torture was one of the best sets I've seen this year by any band. Dead Meadow were ON! There were many songs when they were rocking it and then they would launch into an extra rocking part. Sure, they have riffs and they played them over and over and over, that what rock bands do.

PS To the earlier poster: The new album doesn't come out until June 3rd. That's why they weren't selling it yet.

My torture remarks were probably too harsh. I apologize. I probably shouldn't have been standing right in front of the Jimi-wannabe. On June 3rd, run out and buy this record. Stoner-rock heaven. Is that better, Dave?

I'm with you Dave - didn't know what to expect heading in last night but I was really, really impressed by Dead Meadow. Badass guitars ... really was into some of the effects/pedals he was using. Lots of air guitar moments....
I can see how some people wouldn't dig them, but I don't have much bad to say....
I'm not quite sure what you mean by Jimi wannabe as I have never heard any Dead Meadow music that would support that claim. Just having a guitar and a wah-wah pedal does not mean that you want to be anything other than what you are.
Yes, everyone should run out and buy the album. We could all use the exercise.

God, I thought they were amazing last night. Great set from the Jicks as well.
