Already got my Hollywood Bowl tix! I'm excited to see the Shins, as well. I saw them twice when "Oh, Inverted World" came out; first time opening for PSOI, and second time opening for Mercury Rev. I actually think "Chutes Too Narrow" is the superior album, though, so I'm psyched to hear some of the songs live.

how is admission going to work for this? is it going to be free? i've heard there might be advance tix, but nothing definitive. i can see it being a total madhouse, so i would love to be sure of getting in.

One of my friends hanged out with them for a day in toronto, and she had nothing but nice things to say about them, so cheers to the shins.

It's a free show but space is limited so the promoters will have a few NY designated locations where tickets will be distributed.

yeah i can't imagine it will be easy to get into. anyone/everyone shows up to free events. hopefully they'll do another show with tickets, money tends to weed non-fans out.

apparently the B+S 7/4 tix will be distributed at four starbucks (?!) locations on tuesday 6/27. details (http://www.rivertorivernyc.com/events/index.php?action=show_details&event_id=204).

not particularly convenient, unfortunately ... are there rough counts for how many tix will be available at each location? just wanna figure out when to get down there. also, will this be the extent of the ticket distribution?
