I just read about MoB putting out a singles club to support their upcoming release on Pitchfork (here (http://pitchforkmedia.com/news/06-02/02.shtml)) and I can't find info on it anywhere. A little help?
"As if NEW Mission of Burma weren't exciting enough, the boys have planned something extra-special for the vinyl fetishists among us: a pre-release 12" singles club. Pop on over to the Matador website right now and you get it all: a different 12" single in the mail each week, featuring a track from The Obliterati, for eight straight weeks! What's more, act now and Matador will throw in a CD version of each single, to arrive three weeks after the respective 12". That's right, eight twelve-inch singles and eight CD singles for one low, low price. And did we mention that each 12" has a unique vinyl etching from artist Shepard Fairey on one side? Insanity!" - Pitchforkmedia.com
Go to the Mission of Burma subscription seriespage on the Matador store. http://www.matadorrecords.com/store/storesearch.php
An insane deal that many folks will be kicking themselves for missing out on.

Done!
Question: The page for the subscription said shipping was included yet the invoice still shows an additional $2.99 for shipping. Is that just a hard coded thing that will not actually be charged to my card?

It will not be charged to your card and if it is it will be credited.
Don't worry, $15 ALL IN just as we promised. Could be a few glitches as we get this thing started up.
Patrick
However, if you are outside of the US then international shipping rates will still apply.
Still an awesome deal!

I had a weird glitch where after I checked out it said it only charged me $2 for shipping, but no records. I emailed insound though and they said it was corrected. I didn't realize the $15 included shipping. insane!
I went to the store to get it and was bracing myself for something like $40 or so, but goddamn. you guys really did it up this time, I have no idea how you afford selling an 8x12" PLUS 8xCDep for only 15...

Matadorians, couldn't you make the price $12.01 so when InSound automatically adds the shipping it doesn't affect anything?
I was charged shipping. (i didn't have an option not to) I also got an email saying that my credit card was charged, the order was shipped, and the order was complete. I sent an email to matadorhelp@insound.com. We'll see what they have to say.
I hope all goes well with my order. I am really looking forward to these. Anyone know how big the press run is?

I'm sure it'll get sorted soon.
I was curious about the press run too. how high do you have to go to get cost on a 12" to be around $1-$1.50?

All the valleys shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill made low, the crooked straight and the rough places plain.

First they are gone. We were shocked and awed with the quick response this internet thing brings.
Second, if you are in the US you will not be charged the shipping. Insound's system is set up to add that, but when they actually charge your card the shipping will not be charged. If you live outside of the US then you will be charged shipping.
Thanks everyone.

500. But we're gonna go through and make sure nobody's ordered more than one subscription to ebay or or some shit... that could free up some more subs.

whoa, really? only 500. I figured to even joke about making it that cheap you'd need to make it like 2000 or something.

what's with the e-mail about credit cards being charged? I got the confirmation number from insound earlier today but nothing regarding a credit card charge. Hopefully that secures my order.
Saw Clint Conley a few months ago at a dance recital both our daughter's were in. I said hi and he was surprised anyone in the"dance recital" crowd would recognize him. To be truthful, I was surprised it was him!

stew, that's what happened to me. Somehow it put the order through and gave me a number, but no actual order of records. I just wrote insound with my order number, explained what happened and the guy there wrote back within the hour sorting it out. make sure you do that...

If you live outside of the US then you will be charged shipping.I was charged $17.99 on February 3 but got an e-mail five days later from Insound indicating the excess shipping charge would be credited back to my account. Unfortunately, it's been two-and-a-half weeks since then and my account has yet to be credited. I'm not posting this to slam Matador in any way but, rather, to let folks know that they should check with their banks to make sure they have been credited if they were overcharged.

At first, I also was concerned about the shipping issue. But with only a small run of these records, I'm just glad I ordered early enough to be included.
At this point, I wouldn't really be upset if I got charged $2.99.
Does anyone know if the first disc has shipped????

See the PUNCTUATE! thread.
I'm now closing this thread so we don't have duplication of posting.
