Hey Ophelia,
Unfortunately I don't know when they're going to get up there... it looks like later in Spring.

Fuck Montreal...tell her to play at Barrymore's in Ottawa!

barrymore's would be cool (it's 2 minutes from my house) but it's too big. i think chan would get huge stage fright and refuse to play.
I'm pretty sure she already plays places as big if not bigger than Barrymore's
throughout the US (ie. NYC & San Francisco)
But, alas.. the pressure of playing the sprawling metropolis that is "Ottawa" may be too much her..

casa del popolo or la sala rosa, montreal. it would be perfect.

okay, casa del popolo would probably be too small. but i went and checked out la sala rosa the other day - and that would probably be big enough and cozy enough and it's so nice too... and listen to me talking like i get to decide... well, i leave it up to matador... don't disappoint me.

i also vote for a Montreal show. Or i'd go to Toronto. But Montreal would be great. (Could just walk over to the gig....)

Folks... same old story... if you want to beg a band to come play your town, ask THE BOOKING AGENT.
Best,
Patrick

thanks patrick. that's good to know. i won't be bugging you any more. i'm going to email, fax, call, and send hand made request letters to jim romeo (if he's still the booking agent - i hope that info's not outdated).
if anyone else wants to ask the right person for a cat power show in either montreal, ottawa, or toronto, or anywhere else for that matter, here's the info:

after all these months of pestering and years of waiting for a montreal show, i can't seem to get my credit card to work while trying to buy tickets for the theatre outremont show... i'm gonna be very very sad if the show sells out before i have time to replenish my most likely maxed out credit card. and now that all of you are armed with this absolutely useless information... good night and sweet dreams.
