Jem Cohen and Peter Sillen's film "Benjamin Smoke" was released last Tuesday on DVD by Plexifilm, the independent DVD company that handled the mastering for Slow Century. You may know Jem's work with Fugazi ("Instrument") R.E.M. and Vic Chesnutt over the years. In addition to the excellent portrait of Benjamin in the feature film itself, the DVD adds a remarkable Cat Power performance from Warsaw in Brooklyn last year.

i just read about that in an old mag, and now i can see it.

Mr. Bangs did you ever see Jamie Thraves The Low Down? I ask 'cause i'm wondering if you're interested in doing a feature yourself.
