what do you think? i think it sorta looks like a bad trip on acid when you're vacationing in a icky surreal vacation spot like hawaii.. chan makes these faces like shes really mentally messed up.. i wonder if it's a put on.. she does it alot.. i think music videos are generally silly. but her newest album strikes alot of notes in me, haunting, hopeful, compassionate to name a few...
normally i couldn't stand her thing.. minimal chord progressions, mostly modal music.. but her vocals.. the way they're arranged, the emotions they convey, the honesty, the simplicity, the dynamics.. i think more than carries over any flaws she has, as i feel that she seems to be someone who is confronting her limitations, being honest, and coming up with something very real.
i am not sure what to think as it's bad to assume on first listen or viewing in this example so i will give it some more time and let you guys rant for awhile..

I think that Marshall should never ever try to act again in her videos.

i sorta got the gist of what she's trying to convey in the video... i think the only disturbing parts of the video were when she says... hey hey hey....
but i'm happy... as a fan, chan has all my support....

My thoughts exactly...it was like watching some public access sitcom. But after seeing Cross Bones Style where she doesn't seem self-conscious about mugging for the camera at all it seems a bit weird. Its a great song, but I'm surprised they decided to put out this video at all...

u mean the kid with eyes 3 times smaller than him? That's Daniel something, Chan's boyfriend.
Hey hey hey's are weird, yes. Production's enormously better than Vapnek's previous videos. Congrats!
It's pretty hard to get to see the video with dial-up connection. Is there a chance to have it and all the other artists videos available? or a least the most recent? I still couldn't see Interpol's.

it's bland, but these things are done with a budget. & of course it will never be played regularly by mtv, cause there's no 'pirate booty', or motorcycles. If'd it been made w shit war footage and talking head shots of the pres. it be getting play, regardless of what the song is about.

it felt a bit too...whats the word.....i dunno....too something...
and i agree...chan should NEVER try to act in her videos again...haha...
she seems very hollywood lately....it kinda hurts me because i used to think , if she can do it than i can do it.....but now i dont think i even want to do it...
she seems very comfortable with the camera now...VERY comfortable
i wanted a video for "to be a good woman"..that song could have some really beautiful heart aching visuals..very inspiring....maybe ill just make my own for myself

I'm not sure what the hell y'all are talking about. But that is South Beach Miami, not Hawaii. You are right, she doesn't act well. But, damn, that's a cool song...

i like the video for "he war," i thought it was cute. i don't think she was really trying to make a serious acting debut there people. the hey hey hey's reminded me of old romantic flicks where people acted all melodramatic. i thought it was cute that she did the video the way she did.
seriously, i'm pretty sure she's not out there to be some sort of actress. don't take the hey hey hey's too seriously.
i think she conveyed her shyness very well.
