"David's gone"

Hi. On ebay at the moment someone is selling a compilation from 1990 entitled "Nostalgic Glimpse of a Victorian Country Childhood" which features a Pavement song called "David's gone" that clocks in at the rather unimpressive time of 1:17. Anyway, can anyone shed any light on this? I seem to remember hearing something about it before, about it being a Silver Jews song, with just Malkmus solo (hence the name) but on the inlay it appears to be listed as Pavement. So, ??????????
