I saw the Prosaics perform twice so far during CMJ and I am very excited about them. I got the EP and am really into it too (though most of the songs they performed live aren't on the EP, :( )

After watching MTV last night and thinking for the million-ith time -- these people are not creative; these people are dressing up the most obvious pop/rock drivel and are not doing anything new, etc., etc., my cultural depression was lifted by the Prosaics performance at Arlene's Grocery. They outclass almost all the other bands I can think of in terms of song structure, lyrical sophistication, and... intent or seriousness (ok, maybe Radiohead is as serious as they are...)

Me and my friends are waiting for something big to happen in popular music (I know we are not alone). I wonder if this band could be/wants to be a contender -- they seem to have what it takes in terms of being talented, (photogenic), strong performers, ambitious and keeping their songs focused.

I am curious which of their songs will be singles (Teeth?) or if the Prosaics will go to radio at all with this EP or wait for the full-length. -- Rob
