Any word on what Graeme Downes is up to these days? Will he be putting out nay other albums on Matador? I'd hate to see him disappear again--it was such a long wait between The Verlaines and the solo album!

Did you get the final Verlaines album Over the Moon? If not, track it down; it's wonderful (of course).

And I'd like to second the question! Solo LP #1 was great but it's been long enough. Please ask him to make another ASAP.

Over the Moon is, indeed, fantastic--one of the best. That could stand for a U.S. issue! I've made a point of tracking down as many of his compilation tracks as I can, too--there are some gems floating around for sure. One of my favourites is a song called "Front Row Center" that I found on some tiny NZ radio compilation.
Solo LP #2 can't arrive soon enough!
