Monsoon

Got it on Friday and spun it all weekend, a couple times per day. A very comfortable record, Spiral. "Monsoon" flows like cumulus and pelts like rain. Digging this more immediately than I did "Gas." It sounds good with coffee or beer. Folky with the acoustic, but still has that Spiral tele rock thang. Vocals are better mixed on this record. Tunes are tuneful and mellower than "Gas"-like. I will be in my winter cocoon with this platter in rotation, Stairsman.

The album is really great, I think it blows away "All This Sounds Gas" and I really liked that album as well. PSOI always seems like spring time to me for some reason and this album is the perfect soundtrack for that season.

I am also partial because last time when I bought ATSG I made really good grades that semester and made the Dean's list. Since then it has been a slump, hopefully this new release will revive my great academic performance of that era.

I will have to agree. I liked the first record, but I am really enjoying Monsoon so much more. Great tunes on this very listenable album.
