ok, so i'm just returning home from the np's show at the bowery ballroom. and of course, they put on a fucking fantastic show. kurt looked hot, neko looked hot, and i was waiting for blaine to take his shirt off (unfortunately it never happened). the opening band, young and sexy, was even hot.
so my only downer of the night are these self-proclaimed 'emo' kids hording the front of the stage. and i cringe while i use the word 'emo'. so i get as close to the stage as possible, and the np's come on, and like, everyone's dancing and having a fucking great time. except for this group of girls who took away my spot right in front of the stage. they are trying real fucking hard to look as depressed as possible. but what the fuck, how can you not move your feet or shake your ass a little when the np's come on? you don't go to see them to stand there with your arms crossed over your chest and not budge, at all. the np's are infectious.....who can help but dance. but they apparently are too cool to move. and the glares these 'emo' girls shot my way for having a fucking good time. i'm hoping some of you are reading this....get over yourselves.

not as much fun as the show i saw at the warsaw about two januaries ago, but still a really great time. the tla continues to crapify great artists by dint of bad sound (which is what *makes* the warsaw, in a strange twist) as well as early endings (the show was over by 10:40.

carl signed my copy of fear and loathing in...and asked why. it was a funny exchange. they were a little lite on stage banter. overall todd seemed to have the most fun since we made a crowd of about 10 maniacs right in front of the stage, jumping and dancing. neko wore a penn state t-shirt. no "we are...penn state" chant broke out though. kurt seemed to be injured and overall a little unhappy, but he was awesome with all the drummer tricks. somehow he doesn't strike me as a drummer.

young and sexy.....young and sexy!
i was pretty impressed. the july show i saw with the np's was with organ, pretty much a one note band. i thought young and sexy was a perfect opener for the np's......i would definitely check them out again. hot!

ok one more thing about the np show....they butchered fake headlines!!!!! but it was alright, because they were really cute about it. john's fault, no blaine's fault...kurt 'was it my fault?'

the atlanta show was a lot of fun although hot as hell. i didn't notice too many immobile emo kids, but maybe i was too busy dancing to see them. midset the new porns broke into an impromptu cover of "don't fear the reaper" while carl was tuning his guitar. the band seemed to be enjoying eachother, which is always nice to see. banter was pretty good with some mild southern ribbing ("you know what neil young said about the south, don't you?")

i didn't get into the young and sexy, but the rest of the crowd seemed to enjoy their set. the roy owens, jr. was a solid, earnest bar band. nice guitar.

i think the immobile kids is something you see a lot in ny. see shows anywhere else, and people are there just to have fun. there is a sense of 'too coolness' in ny, and man, it just kinda sucks. pretty much any show you see in nyc, you see a lot of these 'too cool' folk. its really a shame. when the np's come on, you want to dance your ass off.
poor kurt chipped his tooth on like the first song at the ny show.
onstage banter was much better than the july show (at least the first night of the july shows). there is just no one hotter than the np's.

yeah, it was like on the first song, he chipped his tooth on the mic. poor kurt. he was kind of upset about it the whole night. but its ok, b/c he can get it fixed for free in canada.
kurt has the best stage presence ever.
