Aside from a show in Rome coming up this fall (see the tour (http://www.matadorrecords.com/tours) update, the only confirmed shows are backing Björk.

The boys of Matmos will not be officially touring until early next year due to various obligations they have committed to.
However, they will play a few shows here and there. please check the tour section for updates.
on that note:
THURSDAY, SEPT 18th at Rare, 416 West 14th, NYC between 9th & 10th
(the old Cooler).
Doors 8pm
Lineup: Matmos, People Like Us, Donna Summer (not the 70's soul singer), more TBA
www.wfmu.org (for updated information regarding this show)
This is not an official WFMU station benefit. They're helping to raise
money for a staffer's medical expenses - after someone hit him in the eye with fireworks July 4th (it was a station outing.)

very cool. (not the fireworks bit, of course.) though if my memories of the cooler serve me correctly, my hearing should be shot by about halfway through the gig.
aah earplugs. for 39 cents you can keep your hearing...

anyone else make it to the show last night? it was excellent, i thought - better than expected. having never seen them live before, i was amazed at how they recreated everything live. haven't seen too many artists blend electronics and live instrumentation as well as them. and the transitions within songs were seamless - rhythms and melodies slowly being assembled and then dropped on you out of nowhere. awesome. definitely check em out if you get the chance. (wasn't the best venue though - if i wasn't close to the stage, i don't think i would have been able to see what was going on.)
they played only songs from the new album, which were all new to me. great stuff though - picked up the album at the show and enjoying it quite a bit. i think it might be their most accessible album to date.
also chatted with martin for a little while earlier in the night. he had some pretty funny stories about life on the road with bjork....
